The general argument made by Douglas Preston, talking about his ski trip or his visit to Santa Fe. Is that Dalai Lama is an important person, and Douglas didn’t really understood that. More specially, Douglas argued that he didn’t really want to guide Dalai Lama. He needed the money so he did it anyway. In this passage, Douglas is learning from Dalai. Douglas is realizing that guiding Dalai isn’t so bad and learning how Dalai moves is interesting to him. In conclusion, Douglas belief is that, Dalai is really an important person and felt like he shouldn’t have been such a jerk at first.

In my view, I don’t blame how Douglas reacted at first. I would probably feel a certain way too if I had to guide a monk who don’t speak English that well. More specially, I believe that Dalai Lama is a really smart man. Who is very discipline and humble. I liked when he answered that girls question. It something to think about, what makes true happiness.  Therefore I conclude that, Dalai Lama is a really wise man and you can learn so much from him.
